Progressive Video Poker Games : Guide to Progressive Games
With the popularity of Texas Hold 'Em tournaments in Vegas and on TV, it's only natural that progressive video poker games have increased in popularity as well. Much the same as live poker, progressive poker games online allows players to play multiple hands, building a pot, and hopefully winning the jackpot. While there can be small wins along the way, only a special hand of cards gets the entire progressive jackpot, and what that hand is depends on the game.
Microgaming's Video Poker Games
Casino software developer Microgaming has two unique progressive video poker games. SupaJax and Jackpot Deuces are mostly in line with traditional poker games. They each have their own twists, though. In SupaJax, there's an extra card that allows the player to win the maximum jackpot. With four jacks and a SupaJax, the player takes the whole pot and wins the game. In Jackpot Deuces, deuces are wild and only single hands are played. A diamond royal flush wins the pot.
Playtech's Progressive Poker
Playtech offers its own version of progressive poker. In the game Mega Jacks, players get to play the familiar Jacks or Better game, but they get to play for a huge progressive jackpot. The better the hand, the more money the player gets to take home. Only by building a Royal Flush, though, can the player take home the jackpot, and only if he or she has also bet the standard maximum. These conditions may seem difficult, but players can always win smaller amounts with smaller hands.
Online progressive video poker games capitalize on the familiarity of traditional poker, but they sweeten the pot by progressively building jackpots that only the luckiest player can take home.
